Aftermath

The exam was kind of evil. I managed to give answers for all of it, but made one stupid mistake and have no idea if my answers were the ones he wanted. Still, I thought that might happen so I'm not too bothered.

Am now sitting here refreshing LJ over and over again...

Avoiding any mention of Blame Canada or The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and taking it to mean songs where we don't have to change the lyrics, um...

1) Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus, for the Great Tokyo Empire's promotion of Akira as a new god.

Reach out and touch faith
Reach out and touch faith
Your own personal Jesus...
Feeling unknown
And youre all alone

2) Offspring's Come Out And Play for a general overview/introduction of the Capsules.

They're like the latest fashion
They're like a spreading disease
The kids are strappin' on their way to the classroom
Getting weapons with the greatest of ease
The gangs stake own campus locale
And if they catch you slippin' then it's all over pal

3) Chemical Brothers' Galvanize for when Tetsuo is starting to get into his powers.

don't hold back...
'cuz you woke up in the mornin' with initiative to move so why make it harder
don't hold back...
if you think about it so many people do be cool man look smarter
don't hold back...
and you shouldn't even care 'bout those losers in the air and their crooked stares
don't hold back...
'cuz there's a party over here so you might as well be here where the people care
don't hold back...

4) Lostprophets' 4 am Forever - Kaneda looking back after it all to his friendship with Tetsuo - or maybe when he's in the vortex seeing all the flashbacks.

Yesterday I lost my closest friend
Yesterday I wanted time to end
I wonder if my heart will ever mend
I just let you slip away
4 AM forever

5) Paul Weller's Wildwood - Actually, I'd have the Eliza Carthy cover version at the start, for a general Neo-Tokyo/explanation of WW3 thing, and then the Paul Weller one at the end. (Okay, that makes no sense because it wouldn't be those artists singing, but you know. A rougher version at the end.)

High tide
Mid-afternoon
People fly by
In the traffic's boom
Knowing
Just where you're going
Getting to where
You should be going

And because I'm having fun messing about on the Net, the musical version of Battle Royale would contain:

1) Garbage's Metal Heart for a sort of general start - with everyone leaving the classroom.

I wish I wasn't flesh and blood
I would not be scared
Of bullets built with me in mind
For then I could be saved

2) Everclear's Local God for Mitsuru ^^

I feel just like a local God when I'm with the boys
We do what we want, yeah we do what we want

3) Garbage again, this time Hammering In My Head for Mitsuko.

Like an animal you're moving over me
When did I get perverted
I can't remember your name
I'm growing introverted
You touch my hand and it's not the same
This was so unexpected
I never thought I'd get caught
Play boomerang with your demons
Shoot to kill and you'll pop them off

4) Spice Girls' Viva Forever for Kaz and Sakura. Yeah, it's sappy, but so are they ^^

Do you still remember
How we used to be
Feeling together, believe in whatever
My love has said to me
Both of us were dreamers
Young love in the sun
Felt like my saviour, my spirit I gave ya
We'd only just begun

5) What the hell. Evanescence's Imaginary for Mizuho and Kaori.

In my field of paper flowers
And candy clouds of lullaby
I lie inside myself for hours
And watch my purple sky fly over me
