Last night I dreamt that the woman I act as Editorial Assistant for was in the police force and she and Chris from Ashes to Ashes were hunting Jigsaw from the Saw movies. I have a bad feeling Jigsaw was looking to make Chris his new apprentice. Still, it was a surprisingly good dream, and a nice change from the usual motifs of being with my family and trying to pack/tidy up huge amounts of stuff and/or catch trains.

I have developed another cold. Clearly the world just doesn't WANT me to be productive.

I start off hoping around, but I usually settle down to working through at least the first few days in order, because then I feel like it gives me more time ^^

I always want to get them done by Christmas Day, but it never happens!

Ah, it doesn't always happen for me either, but I always think it SHOULD!

I find Day 1 nearly impossible to write, I think because it's the only thing posted that day so I want it to be reasonably good. I don't mind posting shit on other days as long as there's one okay fic in the entire day. But it makes the first one really hard. (Plus this year, JOLLITY? I DON'T DO JOLLY FICCAGE, DAMMIT!)

It totally should. WE SHOULD BE ORGANISED ;)

I do find it harder to be satisfied with Day 1. My fics for that day always feel random and, like, "this isn't really representative of me, dammit!"

XD A moment of jollity amid unrelenting misery/death/bittersweet realisation that everything's a little bit sad/post-apocalyptic wastelands? My jolly fic isn't particularly jolly, I have to say...

That sounds quite a cool dream. And hurrah for changes, those are always nice. Well, in dreams.

I always find dramatic nightmares more fun than repetitive dreams. Maybe it's because the brain is succeeding in sorting things out that way, whereas, with the more mundane stuff, it's repeating itself.

Damn, I hope you feel better, soon. :( That's always wretched when you've got things to do.

Cool! I'm thinking of doing that challenge. I've got a bunch of other stuff, but this is a once a year thing so what the hey.

That's a good point, actually. And any fear from nightmares passes quickly once I wake up, whereas the repetitive stressful stuff hangs around for longer.

I'm feeling a bit better, but quite sorry for myself this morning. I am currently procrastinating on fic by answering LJ comments >_>

Yeah, the scary dream is probably healthier for your brain. And waking up from a nightmare just gives you a feeling of 'phew, just a dream' rather than argh, monsters everywhere!

Yeah ^^ whereas with a more low-key stressful dream, I wake up being all "I know I didn't really have a row with my mum, but I still feel sad that I dreamt it..." >_>
