Tallulah joins the rat race

I got a job at last....*waves goodbye to the jobcentre* it's in a music shop, it's from 9:30 to 5:30, it involves working Saturday (noooo!) but I do get two days off.
And I'm tired...I haven't worked regularly all day for three months! *wails*
It's quite a nice job really, and it doesn't involve working with kids (yayayayayay) so I find it relatively unstressful! (Except for when people try and pay with credit cards. OH, I hate it when people use credit cards!)

Yay, congratulations! Mum says congratulations too and worries that it's an awful lot. But I bet you do fine and you'll get used to the credit cards! *hugs*

I got 36 pounds for one day on Friday, but that was a taster session. I don't know if it changes now, but hey - it's a cool place to work and is teaching me lots of little facts about instruments!

She's not that worried, she just always extends concern about my friends.

Hm, that's quite a nice amount really! Hope you can think of some nice things to spend it on! (are you having to pay rent?)

No, no rent. But I don't know if they take tax off the pay, and if so, how much it would be.

Ah, I don't have to worry about credit cards, everyone pays with cash, and Joanne or Joan does the stuff if anyone pays for anything with a check! (Rare!)

It's not a CD shop sadly, it's sheet music and instruments. (If it was a CD shop I'd be broke in a week!)

Anything by Meat Loaf, Bon Jovi, Andrew Lloyd Webber or... I can't remember who else I was looking for! There was a song I wanted to know how to play and I can't remember what it was! Bollocks!!!!

^_^ Eclectic taste, very cool! I quite like Bon Jovi, haven't heard much of Meatloaf and am quite keen on ALW. How come sheet music is better? (It's more interesting, though, thinking about it, I learn something new about instruments every day, like I now know how to put a clarinet together). Do you play any instruments?

I can play the keyboard and guitar, and some recorder, Irish whistle and little bits of things like that. I wanted to learn to play the drums, but they wouldn't let me!

I like sheet music more because then I can learn to actually play the songs that I like, and then see if I can play them along with the music on CD. The problem with CDs at the moment is that I have so many songs on other CDs or downloaded from the internet, that it's hard to find a CD that has music that I don't already have!

Wow, cool! (Why wouldn't they let you play the drums? Please tell me it's not cos they were scared you'd get too into the beating thing :p)
Well, if you're ever in my area, come into the shop and buy something! (Just don't ask me about guitar strings though.)

Stupid guitars with their stupid strings. Just as I think I've got the hang of it, someone asks a question I can't answer...

Tee hee! Guitar strings are fun to play with! Don't worry, I've worked in a bar for almost a year and people are still able to ask me for drinks that I've never heard of!

*gulps* suddenly selling guitar strings doesn't seem so hard...

*grins* yeah, I know. The only one in the list that I can't remember how to make at the moment is the snowball.

You know, I'm supposed to be working on Friday, but I can't remember what time I'm supposed to go in at. Whoops!

I hope you remember some time in the next 24 hours (or you could just say you were practicing those drinks, obviously had to test them, and passed out under the table so that's why you're late ^_^)

Erm... I don't drink any alcohol, so that wouldn't work. Anyway, I phoned them and I'm due in at... half 8!

Wow, those are a whole lot of hours! Impressive, though it may be bit too much, you think? Even so, money is money, which means good things :D and NO KIDS!! hooray, I am very envious. ^^ Congrats!

^_^ The only problem is it's hard to get other stuff done, like writing AND maths practice...but I should be able to cope. Ulp. And yes, no (well, very few) kids. It's bliss!
