Sep. 4th, 2003 08:46 pmDay off today, so I could go with my mum to drop my sister off on her first day at her new school. Twas very weird, because it was ages since I'd been in there (I used to go there till I was eleven) and it was that odd sensation you get when you're looking at something familiar but from a different angle because you've grown taller since ^_^ Three teachers recognised me!

I seem to be going off chicken as well as other meat now...my mum and sister and I went out to an Indian restaurant and I could only eat half the curry >_<
Also, my singing teacher's got breast cancer, and she's got to go in for radiation therapy. This is sucky for a number of reasons (1) her husband died last year, and so did one of her friends, so it's not like she hasn't had her share of bad luck (2) cancer is sucky in general (3) I was going to take my Grade 5 in November (after having to postpone it from June) and now I can't, which is a pain. (I realise this probably makes me sound self-obsessed.) My mum cried when my teacher told us the news. I didn't. I sat there being very calm. It's a weird situation to be in with a teacher, specially when your mum's there too. Because then the adults talk to each other while you sit quietly. Or I do, anyway. I felt very awkward.
