And I am hoping to do [community profile] 12dayschristmas as is my wont. So if anyone has any requests, let me know - I don't mind if you're doing the challenge or not, I just want suggestions ^^ My fandoms remain as usual, and I can't promise to fulfil everything but I will try!
tallulahgs: (Default)
I continue to attempt to write 78 fics by 6 January in the [community profile] 12dayschristmas challenge and I have decided the time has come to ask for prompts, as per usual ^^

Akira, Battle Royale, Death Note, Portal, Jet Set Radio, Malory Towers all welcome!

I am also willing to attempt Doctor Who, Ashes to Ashes, Homestuck, Jet Set Radio Future, Harry Potter, Merlin, and other miscellaneous fandoms - basically, feel free to ask and I can always decline :p

Crossovers welcome.

Death games and Saw traps also welcome.

Happy to write up to and including R; if you want NC-17 I'm probably not the best person to ask ^^

I am intending to try and complete the 12dayschristmas.livejournal.com/ challenge again this year, so I would welcome any requests/prompts to spur me on to writing 78 fics by the time January 6th rolls round!

Feel free to request something whether or not you are doing the challenge/write fic/are in regular contact with me.  All suggestions are welcome and I'll try to fill all the ones I get (I can't promise, but I'll try!)

Fandoms I am happy to write for include Jet Set Radio, Akira, Battle Royale, Death Note, Portal and Portal 2, new!Doctor Who, and Malory Towers.

Fandoms I will have a go at writing for but don't know so well/feel so confident in/know all the canon for include Ashes to Ashes, Jet Set Radio Future, Merlin, Harry Potter, and Sarah Jane Adventures.  I am in two minds about whether to add Homestuck to that list, as I am feeling pretty fannish about it but also SUPER-INTIMIDATED about attempting to marshall my knowledge of its vast sprawling canon.  So.  Yeah.  Feel free to request, anyway! ;)

I also have a penchant for crossing over far too many things with Saw, if that's what you're into, and don't mind requests for sex and/or violence ;)

tallulahgs: (Awesomesauce Kaneda)
The lovely [livejournal.com profile] sabethea is looking to put together a resource post of people who make and sell crafty-type things, in time for Christmas. So if you are that kind of person or know anyone who is, feel free to drop her a comment on this post and/or flag it up on your social media platform of choice!

I, on the other hand, am looking (nervously) to do the [livejournal.com profile] 12dayschristmas challenge again this year - 1 fic posted on the first day of Christmas, 2 on the second, all the way up to 12 on 6th January. That's 78 fics, so as is my wont, I am asking for prompts/requests! Feel free to suggest something whether or not you're doing the challenge/write fic/interact with me much, as all creative inspirations are much appreciated (I'm a bit scared this year whether I'll manage to pull the challenge off, but I'll do my best...)

Fandoms I am happy to write for or will make a brave attempt at: Akira, Jet Set Radio, Death Note, Doctor Who (new series, bits of the classic series), Battle Royale, Portal, Portal 2, Harry Potter, Jet Set Radio Future (but don't ask for anything after about the first third of the game because I still haven't completed it >_>), Avatar: The Last Airbender, Ashes to Ashes, Merlin, Malory Towers. I'm also happy to consider Saw crossovers ;)
tallulahgs: (Helping you help us)
So, as is my wont, I am hoping to do the [livejournal.com profile] 12dayschristmas challenge again this year. For those of you not aware of this, it involves writing 78 fics by the end of 6th January, on themes set to a bastardized version of The Twelve Days of Christmas.

As this is a lot of fics, I am once again taking requests. Please do say if there are things you'd like to see me write! I have managed to fill most requests in past years so there's a good chance I'll do it ^^ Also, it doesn't matter if you want to do the challenge, or don't - or write fic, or don't - or if we hardly ever speak or whatever. I'm not looking for reciprocal offers. This is, rather, a plan to reduce the amount of thinking I need to do ;)

Fandoms I am generally happy to write in: Death Note, Battle Royale, Akira, Jet Set Radio, Malory Towers, Doctor Who, Portal (1 only)

Fandoms I will make a game attempt at (but may not know all the nuances of canon for!): Harry Potter, Azumanga Daioh, Merlin, Jet Set Radio Future, KareKano, Detective Academy Q, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Torchwood (S1-3)

I will also do Saw crossovers on occasion >_>

Happy (usually) to write R-rated fic; and feel free to ask for fandoms not on the list. I CAN ONLY SAY NO :p
tallulahgs: (Matsuda <3s Internet)
As is my wont at Christmas, I am intending to do the [livejournal.com profile] 12dayschristmas challenge, whereby I write 78 fics based round a set of challenges and post them on, erm, the twelve days of Christmas (26th December to 6th January).

As I'm going to need a lot of inspiration for this and my mind currently feels like it's made of cheese, I'm once again taking requests for said challenge.

In no particular order:

- Happy to write for Death Note, Battle Royale, Akira, Jet Set Radio, and Malory Towers
- Willing to have a stab at writing for Portal, Jet Set Radio Future, Doctor Who, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Torchwood
- Can probably have a go at most other fandoms you know I know, although not Heroes and probably not Ashes to Ashes/Life on Mars (I love it, but the accents are just too hard)
- This is entirely for my own benefit so if you'd like to see something, do request it even if you're not doing the 12 Days challenge/don't write my fandoms/don't write fic/have little interaction with me ^^
- I only write Saw if I'm crossing it over with other fandoms
- I am trying to give myself a break from writing death and misery and hoping to write happy, fun ficlets for this challenge, but I sincerely doubt I'll manage 78 fics of complete sweetness and light
- I generally am not very good at writing NC-17-rated stuff but I don't mind going up to R (in fact, positively embrace it at times :D)

Go! Challenge me!
tallulahgs: (Default)
Once again, I feel like being Christmassy. (Dear gods, when will this feeling pass?) I would love to send y'all a Christmas/holiday card, if you would like. If you do, please leave address in the screened comments below! (Please leave address even if you have left it before. I worry otherwise :p)

Happy to send cards overseas, although make no guarantee they'll arrive on time ^^

Also, still taking fic requests for [livejournal.com profile] 12dayschristmas. Do feel free to leave a suggestion or two if you haven't yet!

*jingle jingle* *sleigh bells* *etc*
tallulahgs: (Default)
Soooo, it's Christmas soon(ish). And, in time-honoured tradition, I am going to make a stab at doing the annual 78-fic challenge on [livejournal.com profile] 12dayschristmas. However, as I'm also trying to be better at commemorating national events of generosity, I am asking that if anyone's got any requests for fic, that they submit them and I will work them into the challenge. Because I have 78 fics to write, people :D

So please feel free to ask! You know the fandoms I know of - pretty much anything I've done for [livejournal.com profile] 40fandoms is probably fair game (except possibly Heroes, because I find that really difficult. >_>) Gen or pairing is fine, although I don't think I can write things above R, so... yeah. Help me be generous rather than just sating my own twisted urges! ;)

(In other news, creative writing class is making me write haiku. I am finding this incredibly difficult. The haiku we had as examples are beautiful, simple moments that flow. Mine are clunky and sound like they have too many useless words in. Still, having said that, I managed to write one this evening that wasn't as bad. And it is good for my brain, I think. It's kind of like doing anagrams or something in poetry form.)

Went to bed at 11 last night. Found it hard to drop off. At about midnight, someone - or possibly several someones - in a nearby house started playing loud music with an extremely heavy bassline. At twenty to one I decamped to the living room, where the noise was muted, and managed to doze until they stopped playing the sodding music. My thoughts on this ranged from 'I hope that if they have pets, they trip over them and bruise themselves' to 'I hope they suffer fatal heart attacks and drop down dead' to 'you know, flaying someone alive isn't so bad if it's someone you don't like...'

From which we deduce that were I to be threatened with sleep deprivation in order to get information out of me, I would totally blab everything. So no one tell me the location of their secret base, 'kay?

I don't feel revision today has gone as well as it should have due to poor sleeping, which is stressing me rather, but I'm trying not to think about it.

***

Edit: It is half-seven and they've started playing it again. Okay, if I don't get a decent night's sleep tonight I'm going to go insane. Just a friendly warning.

***

Have been struck by an urge to write a Malory Towers Battle Royale. This is not a nice urge. But I think it would be interesting ^_^

***

My first exam is on Monday.

***

I can't wait until I can stop revising.

***

That is all.

Edit: No, it's not! I have two [livejournal.com profile] fannish5 memes to do!

What five scenes from fanfic (yours or anyone else's) would you like to see illustrated? )

Name five totally self-indulgent story ideas. (The fanfic you would write if you didn't care if you had an audience and also had no shame.) )

Was reading an article in The Telegraph about this guy who's making a TV drama about Myra Hindley, and he interviewed the psychologist who spoke to her a lot when she was in jail. He comments that:

The picture that emerges is of a kaleidoscopic personality, a classic 'hysteric', someone with no identifiable core who selects aspects of others' personalities and reflects them back as her own to make herself more acceptable yet simultaneously more inscrutable.

Which initially made me think of Kazuo Kiriyama, but also is kind of what I was going for with my character Kimiko Kurosaka in Akira Royale. Nice to know (well, not 'nice', more like 'interesting') that people like that do really exist and it's not all BR writers' crazy imaginations.

On another note, I'm joining the chorus of people who wish LJ would make the search function accessible when you're not logged in. Dammit, I want to be able to quickly browse [livejournal.com profile] fanficrants without having to spend the extra few seconds logging in! It is my right! *thumps table* Mainly because if I log in, I then feel I have to check my Friends page. And often I am only checking fanficrants to kill time before a lecture. And... yeah. *cough*

'fannish5 meme: What 5 fanfic cliches do you hate?' Fandoms: Akira, BR. Some snarky remarks, all my own opinions, no offence intended )
tallulahgs: (Dark Yama)
Okay, this is partly to get that LJ thing on my login page to shut up and partly because I am following a hunch.

It is not because I'm going to scream at people who don't read and/or review my fics. Nor is it because I'm fishing for compliments.

If you don't read my Akira fics/my slash fics/my fics, feel free to ignore this. Also, if you've only read one of the two mentioned below, feel free to ignore this, because I'm mainly interested in people who've read both. (Of course, if you do want to fill it in, go ahead.)

[Poll #754373]
tallulahgs: (Drabble Kaori)
The first 10 people to comment on this post get to request a drabble – ~100 words – on a subject/character of their choosing from me. In return, they have to post this in their journal. Post all fandoms you’re willing to write for.

(Only doing this because I demanded stuff with capslock and menaces from [livejournal.com profile] speakwrite_ and I can't disobey the meme orders. Because that'd be wrong and I might die. I'm not trying to be all 'my writing r0xxors and everyone craves it' or anything ^^)

Fandoms I am willing to write for:

Akira
Battle Royale
Jet Set Radio
Jet Set Radio Future I am iffy about but if someone really wanted it I could have a bash
Harry Potter
Rent
Little Shop of Horrors

Whatever. Any requests would make a change from Akira Royale, which keeps trying to change the intricacies of its plot. (Rocks fall, everyone dies...)

And on that note...

In which Nik and I overuse the 'rocks fall everyone dies' joke to an absurd degree )

The Questions. Warning: much slash )

In other news, I did go to the anime and sci-fi club on Friday. I had to leave halfway through to catch the last bus, but I still went! I saw the first episodes of the following animes:
- Azumanga Daioh - which is on crack and features a character so sugary-sweet I almost went into diabetic shock. On the other hand, it is set in a school, which is nice, and if it didn't get more random I would probably keep watching it.
- Nadesico - which has giant robots and which I really liked, because it was very funny, but still had some angst and post-traumatic stress disorder.
- Wolf's Rain - which was extremely solemn after the last two, but has beautiful backgrounds and cityscapes. Also kind of an interesting plot, involving werewolves.
- Magic Children (or something like that - ____ Children, anyway) - the animation in this was quite ugly and also we hopped 159 years in the first episode. I didn't really feel that involved in the story, although it got good towards the end (quite disorientating was when this little kid showed up in it who had exactly the same hairstyle as Kai).
- KareKano (again, I think this was the title) - I really really liked this. It was quite random, with chibifying and super-deformation, but these worked really well to convey the characters' feelings. Also again it was a school-based anime.

Adding up the time this has taken I'm sure there must have been another anime in there somewhere, but I have no idea what it was.

I have now heard of Battle Royale fics for:
- Star Wars

- Sonic the Hedgehog
- Neon Genesis Evangelion
- Gundam Wing
- Beyblade

- Invader Zim

and the crowning glory...

- My Little Pony.

That's

Look at your LJ "interests" list. If you have less than 50 interests, pick every fifth one. If you have between fifty and seventy-five interests, pick every seventh one. If you have over seventy-five interests, pick every tenth one. If you have fewer than ten, pick all of 'em. List them on your LJ, and tell everyone exactly what it is about these things that interests you so much.
