Look at your LJ "interests" list. If you have less than 50 interests, pick every fifth one. If you have between fifty and seventy-five interests, pick every seventh one. If you have over seventy-five interests, pick every tenth one. If you have fewer than ten, pick all of 'em. List them on your LJ, and tell everyone exactly what it is about these things that interests you so much.
Not such an interest of mine these days thanks to the sequel and the influx of fanbrats it brought trailing in its wake... but... I like/liked it because it tapped into my obsession with juvenile delinquents, it had four, count 'em, four girl characters, all different and interesting (okay, there's still six guys, but it's much better than the One Token Female), the scenery and character costumes looked interesting and exciting, and there was very little canon information, making it a perfect fandom for me to try out my first "proper" pieces of fanfiction in.
Ah, Mitsuru. See comment on juvenile delinquents above. Also, there's the slashy subtext. Who cannot love the slashy subtext? ^_^ But it's not just those two. I love the way Mitsuru is never anything but an under-achieving, violent jerk, but his plotline is interesting and unusual - he still has feelings and he still gets royally screwed over. And deep down, he's a nice guy. No, really.
Winner of the Most Uplifting Despite All The People In It With AIDS musical. It seriously is. And much fun to sing along to when you're alone in the house. It's my own little patch of idealism in a cynical world. Also, nearly all of it is singing, which I've decided appeals to me. When you have a musical that's 'talk talk talk sing' then the singing always feels like it's holding up the action. In Rent and others like it, the singing is the action.
A bit general... but okay. I am interested in writing because it allows me to have my own little world going on in the back of my head, it's the form of artistic expression that I'm best at, I feel I can work out what I'm good at and what I'm not so I can be proud of myself and yet see where I need to improve... and when it's going well, it's a lot of fun.

Me, I'm a libertarian. That makes me diametrically opposed to collectivist 'People's Republic' lefties... but the extreme right wing is just as dark and dictatorial, and I soon run afoul of their iron tenets also. [I believe that both marijuana and abortion should be completely legal - that neither one is the government's business. Oh, the sound of slamming doors!]
