Edit 2: What the hell is up with my line breaks? Sorry, I don't know how to fix this :(

Edit 3: Okay, that reduces the blockiness, I suppose... Dammit, LJ, stop concentrating on text messages and fix your html!

"I would like to know who really believes in equality in the world. Everyone should be entitled to be themselves reguardless of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation or anything else I forgot to mention.. provided they respect the rights of those around them. If people stopped worrying about their neighbor and started worrying about themselves we might actually get somewhere. Stop tryin to govern or control someone else's life and start living your own. In the words of the prophets "Be excellent to each other." If you have the time and want to participate then please post this in your LiveJournal to let those who read it know how you feel, or don't. It's cool. This is my journal and I wanted to let people know how I feel and in the long run I can only speak for myself."

I do agree mainly with the above paragraph (although I'm sure someone can poke philosophical holes in it somewhere) and the guy who wrote it also made a good point about the gay rights paragraph I saw floating around on LJ a few days ago.

Anyway. Guess what? I'm not posting this from the library, or uni, but from home! Because I have Internets! And it is fast! (And I am slightly paranoid that it will suddenly disappear although that hasn't happened yet.)

Apart from that, not much has been going on.

Oh yes - I was fiddling about with my friends groups earlier and that may result in some people being locked out of entries they were previously able to comment on. If this happens to you, it isn't that I've defriended you or anything so just let me know if there's a problem!

Peace out, dudes. Let that be today's random hippie reference.

Edit: And I did have something else I wanted to say! Went to sci-fi soc last night, watched anime.

First we watched Ocha-Ken, which was a ten-minute long episode, pitched at three-year-olds, about these little dogs with tea leaves for ears. They liked tea. When they found good tea, they bathed in it. I wonder how many storylines one could construct involving tea...

Then we watched Mushishi, which is a series of stand-alone episodes about these creatures called mushi, who cause human ailments and sicknesses. The episode we watched was about a girl who'd been made blind by a mushi. The animation of the backgrounds was very pretty but sometimes the people's faces (especially eyes, which is a bit unfortunate considering the theme of the story) were drawn a bit scrappily. I quite liked it but I think most of the people in the audience were a bit weirded out/bored so it was kind of awkward watching it.

Then we watched Love Hina, which I've seen before, but two points deserve mentioning - the sci-fi regulars started dancing to the theme tune (which is incredibly catchy) and the whole episode seemed a lot funnier because everyone around me was finding it funny.

Then... I think we watched this anime with a long Japanese title that I've forgotten. It was described as a horror anime, but was mostly had a very cute, random-humour atmosphere (new guy in town, cute ditzy girl, loud bossy girl with green hair) except in the pre-credits sequence, where someone was beating someone else to death with a baseball bat, and at random times when the hero found out about a murder that had happened in the town in the past and the cute ditzy girl turned up with an axe. However, as it was the first episode I think it was setting stuff up for later.

Then I think we watched Nighthead Genesis, which involved, and I quote, 'angsty bishies with psychic powers'. The older angsty guy looked a bit like Kai, only, well, older and angstier ^^ it was quite good and looked interesting but everyone was in a bit of a silly mood by then so weren't taking it very seriously.

Then we watched Karin, which is about a schoolgirl who's a reverse vampire. It was pretty light-hearted and funny but I left halfway through to catch the bus. Wouldn't mind seeing more of it, though.

*squeals* Yay, Mushishi! I loved that too and the exact same thing happened - the anime soc did not appriciate it's wonders. I love it, I'm looking forward to seeing more of it.

Haven't seen any of the rest though so I cannot comment (well, except Love Hina but you know my feelings on this). But they sound fun.

I'm not lucky as far as Mushishi is concerned. Many people told me I should see it, and I've already had a few chances to do so, but I managed to miss them all... x)

And as for the paragraph on equality, a hole to poke could be that: if we let everybody do what they want, then we give freedom to paedophiles, too. "An' it harm none, do what thou wilt", say Wiccans, and I agree. ^^

(aand, I know I'm commenting to a post from before a few days, but I don't have access to the internet at home now, and only today I've realized we have computers - and the internet - at school x))

"provided they respect the rights of those around them"

Ah, right. I didn't notice that. ^^
