In the mood to update...

Have had a nice relaxing day, spending nearly all of it:
- carrying on with my Akira script (I was pleasantly surprised by first-dub Kaneda delivering a line that made me want to hug him. I also wanted to hug Kai, but then I generally do)
- working out with Nik how the Battle Royale kids could perform Frontier Psychiatrist by the Avalanches, Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, and Yellow Submarine by the Beatles.
- planning fanfic. I think I actually have a balance between angst and canonical events, woohoo!
My cousin got married on Saturday - it went very well despite the rain and I rather enjoyed it despite the fact that I have become rather cynical about both religion and love.
The home computer is still rather unpredictable and still won't let us access Hotmail.

And you know how much the BR orchestra thing makes me laugh (enough to make me snort Coke out of the wrong orifice) - please tell me all about this part sometime! XD
Ah, was it one of the big church and vicar and massive crowds affairs? Lovely. ^^;

Date: 2005-06-28 06:02 pm (UTC)Oh, no, they're extremely different. I think the most random is Kai saying 'You mean fish' in 2001 and 'I've got a bike' in 1988.
If you want me to I'd be happy to! I don't want to bore you with it, though ^_^
Yeah, well, it was only a little village church, but they had a band up in the choir stalls. I want a band if I get married (or a bandchestrombo. Hmm...)

Date: 2005-06-28 07:01 pm (UTC)... O_o;; What? Bike... fish... does not compute...
I'd absolutely love you to if you've got the time. ^^
Me too... and especially a bandchestrombo! Complete with tambourines and dancing. (Hey, wait, did you two make that word up? You did, didn't you?)

Date: 2005-06-28 09:25 pm (UTC)Sorry. End Akira geek mode now.
And begin BR geek mode. Well. We decided that Shuuya had challenged the Gorillaz to a play-off, in which the conditions were:
- no rap
- all members of the band(chestrombo) must participate
- no one can play 'Why Do Birds Suddenly Appear' or 'Happy Birthday' (in a sneaky attempt to put Keita Iijima out of the running)
So Nik and I sat down and thought 'what songs can accommodate a tuba, shamisen, gong, mixing decks, etc?' and came up with those three. Last night we were playing the tracks and working out how it would sound.
Mitsuru was doing the Bohemian Rhapsody solo, actually ;)
Ah, the joys of post-exam freedom...
Yes, we did.
Band from 'band' (Nik: obviously)
Ches from 'orchestra'
and Ombo from 'ombo' (Nik swears blind that this is another word for band, and 'bandchestrombo' sounded so great I didn't want to start an argument about it ^_^)

Shuuya v Gorillaz... ::snigger!snort:: I like that, I really do.
Great, now my mind is full of Shou's tambourine dancing and Mitsuru singing 'is this the real life? Is this just Battersea?' (I know what the lyric is, honest, but that's apparently a very popular mistake people make with it and it's one that I find insanely funny)
People already think I'm strange because I keep randomly giggling while sitting on the bus thanks to you two... (I always listen to my iPod and I keep thinking 'how would the BR bandchestrombo play this?')
... And Filthy/Gorgeous by Scissor Sisters just came on and sent me off into peals of laughter. ARGH!

Date: 2005-07-01 04:19 pm (UTC)*snicker* I like that mishearing.
Eh, random giggling is good. And yeah, I'm starting to do that too (imagine how the bandchestrombo would play such and such... imagining Sho dancing to Filthy Gorgeous is just... very, very scary.)

Date: 2005-06-27 11:55 pm (UTC)Bohemian Rhapsody = Sure, it works with everything.
Yellow Submarine = It's a good song, but please...no.
