Was reading The Daily Telegraph Top 20 Children's Films List while eating lunch today. Seeing Bugsy Malone, The Curse of the WereRabbit, Toy Story 1 and 2 and The Incredibles on there made me yell, "Yes, yes, yes!!!!" (literally - but my flatmates were out ^_^) Seeing A Little Princess on there made me yell "No, no, no!!!!" *dark mutters of canon-rape and how the book was better*
Also I actually like The Jungle Book a lot more now I'm older than I did when I was a child. Always been quite fond of the music, though.

Date: 2005-10-29 09:43 pm (UTC)A friend of mine showed me The Lion King. I saw her flick and raised her The Jungle Book, which she had never seen - and she folded. Yes, The Lion King has some interesting elements, and yes, The Jungle Book has some atrociously 'contemporary' (i.e. 'dated') elements, but there's not much doubt fifty years from now, which one will still be better regarded...
I hope your party went well, despite your forebodings. Had you been here, we could have gone to a costume party downtown. Who would you have been?

Ah.

I suppose I ought to have read a bit farther. How did you look?
