Plus points for:
- seeing Yuko's parents. That was so horribly sad, but very well done.
- the bit when Shuuya got the girls' bodies and... and made them hold hands... and cleaned off the worst of the blood... *cries again* Dammit, Shuuya can be an idiot, but I adored him then. That was such a great thing to do and... yeah.
- Mizuho's appearance not seeming just like Takami lost count of how many students were left alive.
- the whole bit with Mimura's body, which was poignant without being gory.
- Sugimura, in general, cos he was just so darn cute.
- Kayoko, in general, because she seems really realistic.
- Sugimura keeping a kitten in his desk - so funny!
- The ki thing. I thought it would be cheesy and annoying, but it wasn't; it was beautiful.

Minus points for:
- Yuko looking so disgusting when she fell off the tower. Darn it, in the book it just mentions blood! There's not intestines going everywhere!
- The many and varied appearances of Mizuho's underwear. Yes, I can accept that she took her clothes off because she'd got wet in the rain. But I don't really see her as a matching-lace-bra-and-thong type of girl. Now, black Gothic matching panties and bra I could accept. Also, her breasts were huge. She had a really weird body shape.

But overall, very good. If horribly depressing.

I totally agree on all counts - Mizuho certainly did seem rather a bit tacked on in the novel, didn't she? And I didn't even think of that explanation for her taking her clothes off - it just seemed totally fanboy-geared and random to me. ^^

I hope they actually bother to explain how the heck Kiriyama could do his little ki attack - it certainly wasn't an optical illusion and it just... I'm not sure I'm keen on the idea of them doing the supernatural. It was good and handled well, I thought, but still.

Totally. I have this vision of Takami planning out the ending to BR and being like 'And Shuuya and Noriko make 41. Wait a minute. 41?'
Someone was ranting about it on that ezboard place; someone else suggesting the explanation. She had hung her clothes up on a tree rather than just leaving them on the ground, so it does look like she was trying to dry them.
Yeah, it was handled better than I thought it would, but it still seems annoying putting something supernatural in a novel like that. Foreshadowy dreams I can live with, but as Sugi pointed out, we're not in a Dragonball-style anime ^_^

::giggle:: Exactly, I agree. And that gives me the mental image of Takami going through all the students, all like 'So, who have I missed? Well, Kaori was shot, and Yoshio was arrowed and... what happened to Mizuho... Ah! That's who!'

I never thought of that - I reread that part of the manga today and I kept thinking of Kiriyama standing watching her running around in her underwear and talking to the cross. ^^

You're welcome to read the fics of course, but I think part of the fun of JSR is being able to make up your own characters, almost, because there's so little info, so don't get too focused on my ideas ^_^

No, I don't mean completely making up your own characters, but you know. You have a lot of freedom in JSR fiction.
